What is the Sound of Silence?

Listen to this version of The Sound of Silence - by. Disturbed...."the people bowed and prayed to the neon gods they made..."

The path is not one of light or dark because one does not exist without the other. It is the mysterious, the sacred, the void where we discover our wisdom which resides outside of time and space in our higher selves and the divine. The journey does not require others even though having a mentor and a group helps the process. A good practice is to look in the mirror before beginning the descent into the inner chambers of the soul.

God might be able to be understood intellectually and with faith. That is how I spent most of my life understanding it. I rarely felt connected to god or any divinity until I began meditating. It started out a real struggle, not being able to sit still for longer than 5-7 minutes at first, but I set my phone alarm and even if I opened my eyes or adjusted I remained there until the 20 minutes were up.

Some call it the Holy Ghost, some call it Grace, others call it Chi, the name does not define it, nor can it be destroyed.

Listen now - hear it?

"These are the true religious, the purists, the pros, the ones who will not accept a false Messiah, love the priest instead of the God." - Sharon Olds

Meditation is the sound of silence. Our prayers are said, we pause in the morning and night and sit comfortably with a straight back. Taking deep breaths in and holding for five seconds, doing that three times and then submitting to yourself, to the womb of the universe. In the end, it is us that have to sit, in silence, quiet the mind the best we can and find the path that only we can tread. Be still, listen to your heart, awake, arise, stand your ground. Be free, fly free!
